Exam file name : d2t6jjv0.zip Title conquered : Doom 2 Tyson Author : Jan "Joe K." Vida Completion date : 29. 9. 2000 Game and version used : LinuxDoom Log entry : 20000926 1455 CHAL: D2T6 JJV0 19 14 27 (00) 20000926 1455 : Jan Joe K. Vida Substitutions? : NO System used : Pentium 233, 64 MB RAM, 1,5 GB HD, Linux Red Hat 6.2 Controls used : keyboard + mouse, with everything redefined as follows... forward "w" backward "s" strafe left "a" strafe right "d" fire "mouse, right button" Free interpretation : Map 01 (Entryway) chainsaw only 100 % kills under 60 seconds. Comments : Map 19 (Citadel): Easy. I din't even need a route, I just went through and killed all the monsters. Dance: before entering the main building. Map 14 (Inmost dense): Not-so-easy, but not too hard. I used a trick I saw in someone's demo to kill the revenant (and then two lost souls too - just to spare ammo). I'm not sure who invented it (maybe Joe "Doomman" Abene?) but it's a good one. (Wonder if it could be used for the arch-vile too... haven't tried.) Although, I had a few rough times - especially while entering the second fortress; I tried at first to make the imps fight with the chaingunner but then I told myself "What the hell" and shot them all with pistol. Dance at the beginning. Map 27 (Monster condo): Hard as hell. Took me whole day - about fifteen tries. While recording the demo, when I got to punching te knights around the red key (I never got that far in the previous attempts), my hands started to shake so badly that it is visible in the demo. Then, while shooting the second bunch of mancubis, I ran *twice* into their flames and my health went down to 9%. I always tell myself not to hurry but always forget. Dance at the beginning. Well, there are some things that could have been done better (many things, better to say), but what the hell, I survived and killed them all and that's what counts. Author info : I'm playing under Linux now. Theoretically there shouldn't be any problem with the demos (at least the author says so), but when I tried to play demos from other people, it almost always ran out of sync. So, if you had *really* trouble with my demos, let me know and I may return to ol' good Dos and original Doom and then ercord the demos again. Email : joek.@post.cz, but this is probably going to change, look at my next exam. D1M D2M D1V D2V D1T And now D2T (This list is growing... :-)) Jellicles can and Jellicles do!
