Exam file name : D1P6AB.ZIP Title conquered : D1P6 Author : Andy Badorek Completion date : 1997 11 08 Game and version used : Doom2 v. 1.9 Log entry : 19971102 2009 Authentication Dance : LLL-RFL-FLL Userid : AB : badorek@t-online.de CHAL : D1P6 AB 25 45 18 (00) System used : P133, 32MB, ELSA 2MB VRAM Controls used : Mouse: Left=Forward Right=Strafe Keyboard only for CTRL, SHIFT and weapons Free interpretation : Episode 2 in single player deathmatch mode Single player DM means you don't know where you start in the level, you've got all keys and, if you set the parameter, respawning items. I played Velox style, but of course the conditions are completely different. Comments : All lmps have their dance at the start E2M5 - 0:49 Really easy. After I decided which exit was right and which way to go there I made the lmp in the first try. Good for Velox, too. E4M5 - 1:28 Have I missed a secret? A short cut? If not, this level is definitely not medium, it's hard, almost too hard. You're under permanent pistol and shotgun fire which you can't avoid like imp shots. The actual lmp looks easy, though, some baddies must have had a break. Be assured: it's one of the hardest DHT levels I've ever done. I did Doom2 Map22 Pacifist and Map24 Velox, Pacifist style. These levels are as hard but more fun. E1M8 It took many tries until the barons finally attacked each other. In 1994 when the Randoom tool (which could place countless barrels and monsters into one room) came out I experimented with various configurations and found out that almost all DOOM and DOOM2 monsters can be made attack each other. The Cacodemon's fight looks really cool! My level in Memento Mori 2 (Map21) features a similar setup with 3 barons and several barrels. If the player doesn't shoot first, there'll be good odds that the barons attack each other. They can't move away from the barrels. Author info : 28, software developer, plays Doom since Jan.
