Use (only used in FREE) Free interpretation: Map 03 on Nightmare in (fix your Pampers ;-) 0:45 Comments : Map 09: My medium level. Err, well, yes, really medium! Anyone who knows what the strafe keys are for can do it as well. Map 23: A really nice (hard) level with lots of action. Watch out for the end, 'cause I was too surprised when a 'dead' chaingunner suddenly turned out to be not so dead at all and poor little Anthe had 20 bulls for this $%&"?!, but preferred to kill a very lost soul and some stinkin' barrels (of fun!). Map 13: It's not that hard(est) at all, if you are able to kill those spiders right in the beginning. It's a nice strategy to use the revenants shots (love them in this level) to your advantage. Rest is just piece of cake. Map 20: Oh yes, this level is soooo fucking hard !! I recorded it 4 times and *never* ever had any problem. This level is MEDIUM, *maybe* (maybe!) hard - that's it. There's tons of health (400 %) & armor (500 %), *not* counting berserk/ medikits/stimpacks, and more than enough ammo (watch me successfully miss the cell pack in the one-before-last room). Nevertheless this level is one of the best maps ever seen ... it's just not hard(est)! ;-) Authenticated just like D2M-JRM did. Map 24: Alright, so this *is* one of the hardest. I personally don't like it (it's a little sadistic - in some scenes, you *do* need a keyboard or an old MS Mouse to survive!), however I wanted to substitute my easy one with the three hardest (actually, it was ZlatkO [for all those r.g.c.d.* readers: yep, ThE GoDFatheR] who wanted it that way - maybe 'cause he can't do it himself ;-) ... so I did. Map 03 - Free Interpretation: First I only wanted to do it under par on Nightmare, which took me 2 tries (was 1:37 then) ... what a poor free! So, I continued to improve my time, and only about 198 tries later I recorded the final one (is now 0:45). In fact it could be done even faster without grabbing the partial invisibility ball - good luck after teleporting back! ;-) Author info : 24 year old software engineer who started playing DooM in January '95. Living in Austria, home of the original Schwarzenegger (Arnie, eh kloa!) - btw, isn't there a DHT Title named after him? Let's see ... ;-) Other than that, I was the typical ordinary Doomer until I saw Steffen Winterfeldt's famous DooM II Nightmare Run - anyone who hasn't seen it yet, download it *now* from: ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/doom/lmps/doom2/1.9/doom2nm.zip Another comment on Steffen Winterfeldt: somtimes when I watch this and his other incredible LMP (E1M3-NM for DooM v1.2, available via Frank Stajano's homepage), I just can't help thinking of Steffen being a big bunch of bytes (i.e., STEFFEN.EXE) rather than a human being. But then again, even he makes some mistakes from time to time! ;-) This was the point where I had to decide whether to stop or to *really* start playing DooM - with mouse and seperate strafing keys (strafe *on* SUX! ;-). Well, so here's my D2M exam, others to follow soon. Watch out for my D2I (*whithout* substituting Map 06!!!), D2SG & D2GM. Thanx to ZlatkO for e-mailing, ftp'ing and watching numerous LMPs for countless hours. Yeah, right: you can contact me via ZlatkO (thomas_zajic@al7100_a1.desk.hp.com) until I get my own Internet access later on in fall this year. Anthe
