================================================================ Title : paradox 9 (DOOM 2 level) Filename : PARADOX9.WAD Author : Eric van Bezooijen Email Address : eric@csua.berkeley.edu Misc. Author Info : eric.vanbezooijen@sun.com works as well Description : This level is meant to be a deathmatch level, but it can also be used as a "quickie" single player level. In single player mode, it is intended to be quite difficult to finish in ultra- violence, challenging in hurt-me-plenty, and a piece of cake on any other level. I've included a demo of me finishing most of the level in ultra-violence mode if you need some hints to help guide you. To run the demo, run: doom2 -playdemo paradox9 -file paradox9.wad The challenge is to finish the level, in ultra-violence, no saving, in around 5 minutes! Have fun! My demo takes 6 1/2 minutes, but that's cuz I had to use a crappy mouse to record it =O) Care has been taken to make sure the level is balanced in terms of weaponry. You can grab the plasma gun, but that might cost you your life! Additional Credits to : Van Boughner, Doug Stein, and Steve Jankowski for helping me playtest. The authors of DEU. Kenneth S. Forte (fusioncon@cup.portal.com), My first WAD ever was based on his ULTIMA.WAD, about 8 WAD files ago! The guy who did the "danzg13" levels (I used some of the ideas out of this awesome .WAD file) ================================================================ * Play Information * Episode and Level # : L1 Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Yes Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes Difficulty Settings : Yes New Sounds : No New Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : Severely modified MEGAQUAD.WAD (also by me) It took me about 20 hours to build & playtest and fine-tune this level. Additionally, I agree with Id software that companies that shove hundreds of copies of .WAD files on CDs and then charge for them are ripping off Id's and the level-editors creative ideas. Don't put this WAD on a CD like that. * Where to get this WAD * FTP sites: I've uploaded it into ftp.cdrom.com for BBS numbers: Other:
