ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ( DOOM 2 PATCH WAD DESCRIPTION FILE )ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ Title : "Vector Deth Pak I" Filename : VDPAK1.WAD Author(s) : SiNGE (known in reality as the humble Nick Bousman) Email Address : vectorsoft@gamesnstuff.com Misc. Author Info : Fearless leader of Vectorscope Software Date Released : 12/25/95 (Released on Xmas day!) Description : Well...here it is. We got up to five vdeth levels, and so here's the pak. It's a compilation of vdeth1 through vdeth5. There's also a bonus level on map 6. Juan and I jointly created the bonus level. Look for the secret exit somewhere in vdeth5 (Or you can cheat and skip there, hehe.) I changed a few things about all the levels. Made them cooler. There are a few replaced sounds, and totally new music (the bonus level music you might have heard before though.) If you HAVEN'T played the vdeth levels before, there's a whole bunch of weird effects and secrets all over that you'll probably have to learn. Too much to describe here, but if you have any questions, just drop a line. E-mail us! Additional Credits to : Brian Vannatta (& Greetz) The Danzig series is one of the best sets of DeathMatch levels for Doom2 I've ever seen. Keep up the good work! Hey, E-mail us if you ever get to play any of the vdeths. All my happy testers: You know who you are. Juan (Geoff Dickinson): Thanx for initially designing the secret "bonus" level. Had to improve upon it tho... =D Firekisser: Welcome to the group! Awesome music you did. You'll find it in levels 1-5. Those filthy rich geniuses at ID software ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ Ä Play Information ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Episode and Level # : Maps 01-05 (There's a secret level on map 06) Single Player : Yes. If you start deathmatching this WAD before you check it out on your own, I can't be held responsible for how much you'll SUCK. Cooperative 2-4 Player : You could, but what would be the point? Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Gee, I wonder... Difficulty Settings : Nope. (There ARE monsters in the level though.) New Sounds : Yup! The radio sound is from Heretic (I think), the item pickup and plasma gun sounds are from a WAD I did a whlie back and were taken from HALLS.WAD New Graphics : Ack, none yet. Was gonna do cheap plug somewhere, but I ran out of time. New Music : Yup! Musics 1-5 are done by the awesome and godlike Firekisser. The bonus level music is awesome. I have NO idea who made it. I took it out of a dwango wad. Demos Replaced : None Ä Construction ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Base : New level from scratch Editor(s) used : WADED 1.42 (I'd register if it weren't so buggy.) Known Bugs : Though it won't crash like it used to, I'm not entirely sure vdeth 3 is as stable as pie. Yet, crashes are consistent. They ALWAYS happen in the same places. So if your game crashes a lot, AVOID the area which make your computer crash. I certainly must work on vdeth3 some more. The bonus level (vdeth6?) has a couple of tiny errors. You can see through in places you're not supposed to. It's a node builder problem. The operation of the levels is kinda odd. If you go through all the levels, at vdeth5 you just keep on repeating vdeth5 (because that's the end of the pak). If you use the secret exit, you go to the bonus level, but when you use the bonus level's exit you just repeat the bonus level (cause there's nothing else). Not really a bug, but it is a little confusing so we mentioned it here. BTW, if you DON'T go through all the levels, I believe you go to vdeth1 after hitting the vdeth5 switch. Time : Well, it took quite a while (working on and off) to redo these levels. If you've played the originals, you'll notice the changes.
