CHANGES FROM 1.1 -> 1.2 - Corrected some architectural flaws in various maps. - Added extra ammo to the start of map 2 and fixed the shotgun near the level's beginning not appearing on Hard difficulty settings. - Added a workaround for a GZDoom bug causing level transition to not work properly in GZDoom versions 1.2.0 and 1.2.01. - Added recommendation for not playing in software mode to this file. GZDOOM AND SOFTWARE MODE 3d floors aren't displayed if you play GZDoom in software mode. Since this feature is used in all of Titan 2's levels, playing in software mode is not recommended. JUMPING AND CROUCHING Be aware that you can both jump and crouch with GZDoom - something that will prove very useful when traversing the dangerous environments of Titan 2 and when attempting to dodge that Imp's fireball. GUIDE TO DIFFICULTY SETTINGS Difficulty settings vary from WAD to WAD, and these days are quite different than what some consider the relatively easy settings of Doom, and even Doom 2. Therefore I've decided to make a little guide to how to pick the difficulty rating that's right for you in Titan 2. 1. I'm Too Young To Die You're not that experienced with Doom, you play using the keyboard only, or you have the reflexes of a granny. 2. Hey, Not Too Rough If you're not particularly awesome at Doom, you might want to start off your journey into Titan 2 at this difficulty setting. This is the recommended setting for most Doomers as they play through Titan 2 for the first time. 3. Hurt Me Plenty You're very good at Doom, or you don't mind getting your behind handed to you once in a while. Or you've completed Titan 2 on a lower difficulty and seek something a little more challenging. 4. Ultra-Violence This setting is for advanced Doom players who've already defeated Titan 2 on a lower difficulty. This setting should put back the challenge in familiar surroundings. Raving Doom lunatics and madmen might pick this difficulty for their first play through. 5. Nightmare Good luck. NEW MONSTERS To make your journey through Titan 2 more challenging, several new bad beasties have clawed their way out of their pits in order to ruin your day. Zombie Marine You were wondering what happened to all the other marines. Obviously, they got zombified and hid in some backwater hell pit until now. These bastards fire plasma in your general direction, so get rid of them fast! One clean shot with the super shotgun should take care of them. Afrit He looks like a Baron of Hell crossed with a genie. He's permanently on fire, and he floats around setting fire to everything he sees, including you. Better down this bastard before he turns you into his own special barbecue. He's tough, but you've seen tougher. Lord of Heresy This guy resembles a Baron of Hell a lot. Except his face looks a lot meaner, and he has wings. Turns out while all the Hell Barons and Hell Knights were busy fighting you, the Heresy Lords were inventing new ways to abuse energy balls. The Heresy Lord will toss energy balls like there was no tomorrow, and even has a powerful nova attack. If you plan to live, keep your distance. Hectebus You thought you made this particular species extinct after the events on Titan, but you never know if Hell's been keeping a few in reserve just to piss on your parade. This guy is like a super Mancubus capable of unleashing a massive torrent of explosive orbs that'll reduce you to a cinder if you get in the way of the blast. Bruiser Demon Even the Heresy Lord steps aside to make way for this guy. His arms are on fire, his feet are on fire, and by the look in his eyes, he has every intention of ensuring that you are on fire, too. Don't be caught in his line of fire (haha) unless you're planning a career shift to smoking crater. Kingpin Someone, or something, more like, is responsible for you being trapped in Hell. Most likely it's big, bad and has access to gratuitous amounts of firepower. You will find out, whatever it is, and hopefully kick its ass. But you know better than to underestimate it. Given all the stuff it's been able to accomplish, the supremety of this devil, this fiend, is not to be taken lightly.
