Difficulty Settings : Yes. But Nightmare isn't supported, and the game will neither work with respawn nor with nomonsters. Also the skill level doesn't affect the actual Nym game, except that the demons won't hurt you at skill 1. Jumping is required. Saving during the Nym game is considered cheating, but allowed elsewhere. Cheating : If you're a newby and the cyberdemon scares you, on skill level 1, you can jump over the switch in the arena to telefrag the cyberdemon, though you still need the key you get by beating the Nym game in order to do this. Of course, for the real challange, cheating is absolutely not recommend, so don't do the following if you seriously want to play this! - At your turn, you can noclip to the other boxes and kill demons there as well. The game will count them correctly. Don't try this at the marine's turn, or the scripts will be messed up. - Saving during the Nym game is considered cheating. - IDKFA will not give you all the keys required, though it's not hard to just pick them up after you BFG'ed the cyberdemon. (There is no BFG in the map, though.) * Construction * Base : New from scratch Build Time : About a week. Editor(s) used : WinZeth for some besic structures. Doombuilder for most of the map and the scripting Deutex for merging all together ZDBSP for the nodes Zennode for reject Known Bugs : There are some glitches including HOM in ZDoomgl. I recommend playing this with the software renderer. May Not Run With... : * The rules * This map is basically a regular single player one, but it features a game of its own as part of it, known as "Nym". How to play : The Rules are simple. It is a turn based game. Whenever it's your turn, choose between the boxes with demons in it, and kill as much of them as you desire, though you must kill at least one of them! Then hit one of those switches which appear between the boxes to let the scripted marine make his turn! The objective : Simply don't kill the last demon! You must force the marine you're playing against to do this. Once he killed the last demon, he dies and leaves his key behind. Also the doors will open and you can pick up all the goodies on the other side. Some hint : Keep in mind, that your advantage is that you can choose wether you want to make the first turn or not. It's simply a matter of open a door or hitting a switch first. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse.
