Author Info : College student doing THIS instead of homeowork. Description : Into Hell is intended to be an episode of levels that take you deeper and deeper underground, until you find a crack in the Earth and dive into the realm itself. BUT... this was originally going to be a 11 maps. Then my comp. got a virus and I didn't touch Doom for about 3-4 weeks. There'll be a part 2, I hope. Not for a while, but there will be. I'm still trying to get a handle on mapping, and the last 2 maps aren't like anything I've tried before, so I hope they turned out okay. Anyhow, hope you enjoy! The story is provided in the level descriptions. Additional Credits to : The usual suspects: id Software, creators of Doombuilder, sourceports, etc. Additional Textures from the following, and special thanks to: Nick Baker The Gothic DM Team (See disclaimer at the end of this text.) Tested With : PrBoom Story-ish: Map01 - Excovation Site Alpha With the team from site Alpha failing to respond as per routine, the ones in charge decided that you need more work than you've had enough of a break. When you get there, though, they're all gone. The bridge is broken, the team completely missing, and what's more, you see some all-too-familiar looking patterns lining the walls. With a heavy sigh, you pull out your pistol and sally forth. Influences from: -SCYTHE MAP05 -A nod to HR Map12 is thrown in there. Map02 - Devil's Plaything They've made a damn toy out of you, it seems. The path to the red key is blocked... looks like you'll need to find a way to work around it. Wouldn't be too dificult if the bastards wouldn't stop playing around with you. Those decorations may just not be decorations after all... Notes: -I had a serious block on this level. All in all, a mixed bag, really. The second half can be tough if you shoot wildly. -The mood I was going for was that the demons are messing with you. Don't know how well I pulled it off. Map03 - 616 Feet Under If your suspcions are correct (and aren't they always?), this is the last stretch of bad news you have to wade through to get to Hell. Don't relax, though, and always watch your back (and your front!), these guys aren't playing around anymore. They'll pound you into the ground, they'll jump out of no where, pop up behind you, and taunt you... Anything to make you sweat, really. Just get to Hell's entrance ! Notes: -I kind of like the way this one turned out, in all honesty. With the exception of the repeated pentagram-in-the floor technique, anyhow. -This took me way too long. -Does "Suspense" sound like shit when you use ZDoom, too? * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse.
