=========================================================================== Advanced engine needed : Limit-removing source port Primary purpose : Single play =========================================================================== Title : Dead Outpost Filename : HELLBASE.WAD Release date : 10/21/10 Author : StupidBunny (keegancovey@gmail.com) Other files by author : HELLBND.WAD Description : =OVERVIEW= A large techbase map that I made a while ago but for some reason haven't been bothered to put the finishing touches on and upload until just now. Starts out pretty easy, becomes difficult later on. Most of the level is spent looking for the main switch which will gain you access to the front gate control on the compound wall (don't worry, you'll know the main switch when you see it) and then the final battle takes you from the main switch back to the front gate. I'm looking at this level now and wishing I'd made the architecture a little less square-ey, but as it is it's a decent map and I put a lot of effor into it so it should work well. =UNNECESSARY STORY= After Hell's first invasion of the Earth was thwarted, the great demon lord which had commanded the infernal armies left vast tracts of Hell destroyed in its death throes. UAC, seeing Hell's power weakened, seized the opportunity and began establishing military outposts and research compounds across Hell, with the intention of controlling and ideally exploiting the monsters they had battled. Even as they publicly announced the end of their tampering with the forces of evil, UAC was sending hundreds of thousands of Marines and research personnel to Hell, assuming that they would now be able to keep the remaining demons under their heel. Needless to say, this was a grave miscalculation. The UAC had far underestimated Hell's ability to rebuild, and within weeks hordes of demons were at the gates of the UAC's compounds. The defense forces were overwhelmed, and before long the bases were staffed only by savage monsters, walking dead, and endless piles of corpses. You, a lowly corporal in the Space Marines, had been based at a strategic and well-defended outpost on the edge of what was only weeks ago a valley of rubble but what is now a thriving demon city. The UAC had erected the compound fast, but unfortunately the demons were faster, and after valiant but hopeless resistance the monsters had overrun the base. You are now the only living human in the entire compound, and probably in all of Hell. With the researchers dead, your comrades twisted into mindless monsters and UAC's plan generally in the toilet, there is only one thing you can do: get out of the base and find a way back to Earth alive. Your chances of making it out are slim, but then again you wouldn't be the first person to escape from Hell. With this in mind, you set out, with nothing but your pea shooter, a few dozen rounds of ammo and your iron will to live... Also, the lavafall texture is from GothicDM (I think) so credit there as well =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : 1 Sounds : Yes.
