Author Info : I've played Doom on Amigas Description : A heavily modernized oldschool mapset I originally finished in 1998, and which I never before released in its entirety. See Mapset History below. Mapset is optimized for pistol start, although it was originally meant for continuous play. The Blue Armor in Map01 is the only item that still helps only continuers. Although the mapset is significantly changed from the original, the goal was to retain the oldschool look and feel even wile adding detail and upping the monster counts for greater challenge. The current version 1.1 includes several changes suggested in HAK3180's playthrough from September, 2018. Fixes include eliminating stuck monsters in Map02, fixing a potential game-stopper on Map04, relocation of a Super Shotgun in Map05, and occasional visual improvements. In addition, map names now appear in the automap. The original Map02 was actually started during my RoC work, was finished in January 1997, but ultimately rejected. It can be found in DWMP 2016, virtually unchanged. Map03 was donated to Realm of Chaos in 1997 when we had to replace the original Map06. The version here has significant differences in pathing, secrets, detail and monster count from the version in RoC. There are now 792 sectors instead of 323, and 312 monsters on UV instead of 249. Map04 was originally released in 1997 to the defunct AOL MacDoom Library. After some revision it was uploaded to idgames in 1999 as Disraeli.wad. Again, the original version had less detail, somewhat different pathing, and fewer monsters. The idgames version has 560 sectors and 248 monsters on UV. The version here has 856 sectors and 294 monsters on UV. I believe these differences warrant leaving the older files on idgames alone. Lastly, Map06 was also uploaded to the AOL MacDoom Library in 1997, but was never uploaded to idgames. * Copyright / Permissions * Authors MAY use the contents of this file as a base for modification or reuse.
